Sándor Kocsis

Sándor Kocsis was the top scorer of the 1954 World Cup with 11 goals — a historic record matched only by Gerd Müller in 1970. A member of the legendary Aranycsapat (Golden Team) of Hungary, he was known as 'Arany Fej' (Golden Head) for his impressive heading ability. Kocsis's Hungary reached the 1954 World Cup final as a great favorite, but lost to the surprising West Germany.
