Rai was a Brazilian midfielder who stood out for his elegance and game vision, serving as captain of the Brazilian national team at the 1994 World Cup. Developed through São Paulo's youth categories, he became one of the club's great leaders in the 1980s and 1990s, winning national and international titles.
