Tamires
Born in Caeté, Minas Gerais, Tamires moved to São Paulo as a teenager in pursuit of opportunities in women's football. She began her career in futsal before transitioning to field football, emerging as a left-back for clubs such as Juventus and Santos. After periods abroad, including a stint at Charlotte Lady Eagles in the United States and a long season at Fortuna Hjørring in Denmark, Tamires returned to Brazil in 2019 to join Corinthians, a club through which she became one of the greatest symbols of women's football in Brazil, accumulating dozens of titles. She is the only mother-athlete of the Brazilian National Team, having given birth to her son Bernardo in 2009 before fully resuming her career from 2013 onwards. Tamires is recognized as one of the world's leading left-backs, having received multiple times the award for best South American player and the Silver Ball of the Women's Brasileirão.
