Thiago Alcantara was born in São Paulo, son of former Brazilian player Mazinho, a four-time World Cup champion in 1994. Developed through Barcelona's youth academy, he stood out for his technical elegance and game vision in midfield. After establishing himself at Barcelona, he transferred to Bayern Munich in 2013, where he became one of the best defensive midfielders in European football, winning the historic treble in 2020. In 2020 he signed with Liverpool, where he continued collecting titles until the end of his stint at the club in 2024.
