Tinga
Paulo César Fonseca do Nascimento, known as Tinga, was a Brazilian midfielder trained at Grêmio and established at Internacional, the club with which he won the Copa Libertadores in 2006. Revealed at Grêmio, where he played in the late 1990s, Tinga had stints in Germany and Japan before arriving at Internacional in 2005. At the Beira-Rio, he became one of the pillars of the midfield of the team that won the 2006 Libertadores against São Paulo and, in the same year, the FIFA Club World Cup against Barcelona. In 2007 he transferred to Borussia Dortmund in Germany, where he played for five seasons and participated in the conquest of the 2010-11 Bundesliga. He returned to Internacional in 2012, ending his career at the gaucho club in 2014. For the Brazilian national team, he was called up by Dunga and played in the 2007 Copa América, won by Brazil in Venezuela. In 2014 he was the target of a racism incident in a Libertadores match in Peru, a case that had great international repercussion.
