Toni Schumacher

Toni Schumacher was one of the best German goalkeepers of the 1980s, two-time European champion with Cologne and World Cup runner-up in 1982 and 1986. He became infamous for the brutal tackle against Patrick Battiston in the semi-final of the 1982 World Cup, considered one of the most violent incidents in World Cup history. Despite the controversy, he was a goalkeeper of enormous talent and assurance.
