Valentino Mazzola

Valentino Mazzola was the greatest Italian player of his generation and captain of the legendary Grande Torino, the dominant team in Italian football in the post-war period. He died tragically in the Superga air disaster in 1949, together with the entire Torino team, cutting short a brilliant career. He is the father of Sandro Mazzola and is considered one of the greatest talents that Italian football has ever produced.
