Victor Leandro Bagy was born in Santo Anastácio, in the interior of São Paulo, and gained national prominence at Paulista de Jundiaí, where he was champion of the 2005 Copa do Brasil, one of the greatest achievements in the club's history. He transferred to Grêmio in 2008 and established himself as one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the country, winning the 2010 Gaúcho Championship. In 2012, he was signed by Atlético Mineiro, the club where he reached the peak of his career. In the 2013 Copa Libertadores, Victor made a spectacular left-footed save from a penalty kick taken by Riascos of Tijuana in the closing moments of the second leg of the quarter-finals at Independência. The save secured the team's qualification and became a symbol of the campaign that ended with Atlético's first continental title, earning him the nickname 'São Victor' among fans. At Atlético, he also won the South American Recup and the 2014 Copa do Brasil, as well as Minas Gerais state championships. He was called up for the 2014 World Cup as the third goalkeeper. After leaving the pitch, he remained connected to the Minas Gerais club in roles within the football management.
