Walter Samuel

Walter Samuel, nicknamed 'El Muro' (the wall), was one of the most respected center-backs in world football in the early 2000s, recognized for his defensive solidity and physical strength. Discovered by Newell's Old Boys, he transferred to Boca Juniors before establishing himself in Europe, where he played for major clubs such as AS Roma, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. It was at Inter Milan where he reached his peak, being a key player in winning the UEFA Champions League in 2010, as well as Italian national titles. For the Argentine national team, he competed in the World Cups of 2002 and 2010.
