Youssef Safri was a combative and disciplined Moroccan midfielder who stood out in both European football and for the Morocco national team. He played for several clubs in England, being best remembered for his spells at Coventry City and Birmingham City. He represented Morocco in two World Cups, being one of the pillars of the African midfield.
