Zózimo
Zózimo Alves Calazães was a Brazilian centre-back who was a two-time World Cup champion with the Brazilian National Team in the 1958 and 1962 World Cups. A Bangu idol, he was known for his elegance in ball distribution and defensive security. Revealed in Bahian football, Zózimo built his career mainly at Bangu Atlético Clube, in Rio de Janeiro, where he became one of the greatest players in the history of the club from the West Zone of Rio. In the Brazilian National Team, he was part of the world champion group in Sweden in 1958 and Chile in 1962, being part of one of the most victorious generations of Brazilian football, alongside Pelé, Garrincha, Didi and Nilton Santos. After retiring, he had a discreet life and died prematurely in 1977, leaving the legacy of one of the greatest Brazilian centre-backs of his era.
