Águia Negra Sports Club is a football club from the city of Rio Brilhante, located in the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul. It plays its matches at Estádio Iliê Vidal, known as Ninho da Águia, and is one of the clubs with the greatest tradition in southern Mato Grosso do Sul football outside the state capital Campo Grande.

History

Founded on May 30, 1971 by Iliê Vidal, a prominent figure in local politics, Águia Negra was born with the objective of representing Rio Brilhante in the state competitions of Mato Grosso do Sul. The club's stadium subsequently received the name of its founder in recognition of his importance in the foundation and development of the association. The club's first major achievement came in 2001, when Águia Negra won the title of the Second Division of the Mato Grosso do Sul State Championship by defeating Coxim in the final, securing access to the elite of state football. Six years later, in 2007, the club experienced its greatest moment when it became champion of the Mato Grosso do Sul State Championship, the main title in its history. In addition to field football, Águia Negra has established itself as one of the most competitive clubs in Mato Grosso do Sul, ranking among the best in the state in the CBF national club rankings. The club continues to regularly compete in the Mato Grosso do Sul State Championship, keeping alive Rio Brilhante's football tradition.
