History

Auxerre Football Club was founded in 1905 in the city of Auxerre, in the Burgundy region. For decades, the club remained in the lower divisions until its rise in the 1980s under the technical command of Guy Roux, who transformed the institution into a French powerhouse. Auxerre conquered the French Cup three times (1994, 1996, 2003) and competed in the Champions League, consolidating its name internationally. Its white and gold colors reflect the club's historical elegance. The Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps is its traditional stadium.
