Al-Duhail SC

Al-Duhail SC

Al-Duhail SC is one of the most successful clubs in Qatari football over the last two decades. Founded in 2009 as Lekhwiya SC, linked to Qatar's security forces, the club changed its name to Al-Duhail in 2017 following a merger with El Jaish SC.

History

The club was founded in 2009 under the name of Lekhwiya SC, with strong institutional support from Qatar's internal security forces, and quickly became a powerhouse of the Qatar Stars League, winning several national titles in its early years of existence. In 2017, Lekhwiya merged with El Jaish SC, another traditional club linked to Qatar's armed forces, giving rise to Al-Duhail SC. The new identity retained the winning squad base and professional structure that had been built, consolidating the club as one of the protagonists of Qatari football. Since then, Al-Duhail has remained among the country's top teams, regularly competing in the Qatar Stars League and representing Qatar in continental competitions organized by the AFC, maintaining direct rivalry with Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan for the top of the national standings.
