History

Club Atlético Aldosivi was founded on April 3, 1913, in Mar del Plata, a coastal city in the province of Buenos Aires. The yellow and green colors and the nickname Tiburón (Shark) identify the club and its fans. For decades, Aldosivi played in the lower divisions of Argentine football, being one of the main forces in its region. Over time, it came to compete in the national second division and reached the elite of Argentine football, alternating seasons between the Primera División and the Primera Nacional. The club plays its matches at the José María Minella Stadium, also known as the Mundialista Stadium, built for the 1978 World Cup. Among the names who passed through Aldosivi is midfielder Mauro Camoranesi, who started his career at the club and later became world champion with Italy in 2006.
