Amazonas FC

Amazonas FC

Manaus-based club founded from the merger of football departments from other local associations, it became the main force in Amazonas football in the last decade.

History

Amazonas Football Club was born in 2007, inheriting part of the structure from Rio Negro and other local clubs, with the objective of professionalizing football in Amazonas. In its early years, the club competed in state and amateur competitions, but quickly organized a youth development foundation that would become a reference in the North region. National expansion came from 2018 onwards, when the team began competing in Series D of the Brazilian Championship, achieving promotion to Series C shortly after. Promotion to Series B in 2021 marked the club's institutional peak, placing it among the main representatives of Amazonian football on the national stage. Based at Arena da Amazônia, a stadium built for the 2014 World Cup, Amazonas FC established itself as the state's main club, surpassing traditional rivals such as Nacional-AM and Rio Negro in competitive relevance.
