History
Founded in 1929 in the capital of Ceará, America FC is one of the oldest associations in the state of Ceará. The club competed for decades in the Ceará Championship, becoming a fundamental part of local rivalry with Ceará and Fortaleza. Despite never achieving consistent national prominence, America maintained its tradition in state football throughout the twentieth century, forming generations of players for northeastern football. In the 1930s and 1940s, the club experienced its most prestigious moments in Ceará football, actively participating in the first organized championships in the state. America represented the working class of Fortaleza, being supported by workers and humble communities of the capital. With the growth of Ceará SC and Fortaleza EC, America began to dispute secondary positions in local football, but never lost its identity and tradition. The club remains active in Ceará football, participating in state competitions and serving as a training school for young talents in the region.
