América Football Club is one of the most traditional clubs in São Paulo, founded on December 4th, 1912. Active in the early days of São Paulo football, the Rabbit competed in the first editions of the Paulista Championship and left its mark on the history of Brazilian football.

History

Founded in 1912 in the São Paulo capital, América FC was born during a fertile period for Brazilian football, when São Paulo clubs began to organize their first formal competitions. The team stood out in the early decades of São Paulo football, winning the Paulista Championship in 1948. The nickname 'Rabbit' and the white and red colors have marked the club's identity since its foundation. Décio Vitta Stadium, also known as Javari, was the stage for great matches and rivalries throughout the 20th century. Over the decades, the club faced the common fluctuations of Brazilian football, alternating between upper and lower divisions of the Paulista Championship. Even in the most difficult phases, América SP maintained its activities and preserves a special place in the memory of lovers of São Paulo football history.
