Argentinos Juniors is a club from the La Paternal neighborhood in Buenos Aires, world-renowned for being the club where Diego Maradona started his professional career. Founded in 1904, the club won the Copa Libertadores in 1985 and revealed generations of talents to Argentine football. Its stadium was renamed in honor of the greatest idol in its history.

History

Argentinos Juniors is internationally recognized as the birthplace of Diego Maradona, who played for the club from 1976 to 1981 before becoming the greatest player in the world. In 1985, the club reached the pinnacle of its history by winning the Copa Libertadores of America. The club has a notable tradition of discovering talents, being one of the most productive breeding grounds of Argentine football. Besides Maradona, other great names like Claudio Caniggia and Sergio Batista started their careers at the club.
