Agremiação Sportiva Arapiraquense
ASA is one of the most traditional clubs in Alagoas, with historical prominence in the northeastern scene and participation in national competitions in the 1980s and 1990s.
History
Founded in 1961 in the city of Arapiraca, in the interior of Alagoas, ASA quickly became the main rival of CRB and CSA in the dispute for state supremacy. The club had its competitive peak between the 1970s and 1990s, when it competed in several editions of the Brazilian Championship in access divisions. ASA is the greatest champion of the Alagoas Championship, having won the state title dozens of times throughout its history, establishing itself as a power outside the capital Maceió. In the 2000s and 2010s, the club alternated participation in national competitions such as Serie D and the Brazilian Cup, maintaining the tradition of training and developing players for northeastern football.
