History
Athletic Club was founded in 2017 in São José do Rio Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, with a modern management project aimed at forming a competitive club in a short period of time, something unusual in traditional Brazilian football. Already in its first seasons, the club invested in infrastructure and athlete recruitment to compete in the access divisions of the São Paulo State Championship. In 2019, Athletic won the São Paulo State Championship Series A3, securing access to the main division of football in the state of São Paulo. In the following years, the club continued to invest in competitiveness also in national divisions, participating in Series D and C of the Brazilian Championship, attracting attention from sports media for the pace of institutional growth. Athletic plays its home matches at Estádio Anísio Haddad, in São José do Rio Preto, sharing the city with the traditional América Futebol Clube. The club adopted black and white colors in its visual identity. Still in the consolidation phase, Athletic Club began to be cited as an example of a club-company that sought, in just a few years, to travel the path that would traditionally take decades for other associations in Brazilian football.
