Atlético de Alagoinhas Sports Club is a Bahian club founded in 1944, known as the 'Caiman of the Northeast'. History

Founded on September 8, 1944 in the city of Alagoinhas, in the interior of Bahia, Atlético de Alagoinhas built its history mainly in regional championships. The club is one of the most traditional teams from inland Bahia and has accumulated significant participations in the Bahian Championship over the decades. The Caiman, as it is affectionately called by its fans, achieved its greatest moment of national prominence by securing promotion to Serie B of the Brazilian Championship in 2021, becoming a reference for football in the northeastern interior.
