Atlético Cajazeirense

Football club from Paraíba founded in Cajazeiras, traditional participant in the lower divisions of Brazilian football and one of the main teams from the interior of Paraíba.

History

Atlético Cajazeirense was founded in 1999 in the city of Cajazeiras, in the Paraíban sertão, quickly establishing itself as one of the most competitive clubs in the interior of the state. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, the team became a constant presence in the Paraíban Championship, competing for the state title with traditional teams such as Campinense and Botafogo-PB. In the 2010s, the club expanded its participation to national tournaments, taking part in editions of the Série D of the Brazilian Championship, a competition that became an important platform for the team to display its football outside of Paraíba. With a modest structure compared to major centers, Atlético Cajazeirense invests in developing local athletes and maintains strong identification with the local fan base, being a symbol of football in Paraíba's Alto Sertão region.
