Atlético Madrid is the great rival of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Under Diego Simeone, the Colchoneros became one of the most competitive teams in Europe, with two La Liga titles and two Champions League finals.

History

Founded in 1903 by Basque students, Atlético has always lived in the shadow of Real Madrid, but built its own identity of struggle and fighting spirit. The Diego Simeone era, which began in 2011, transformed the club into a European power: two La Liga titles (2014, 2021), three Europa Leagues and two Champions League finals. The Metropolitano, inaugurated in 2017, represents the new power of the Colchoneros.
