History
In 2021, Atlético Mineiro experienced one of the most victorious seasons in its history. Under coach Cuca's command, Galo won the Minas Gerais Championship, the Copa do Brasil and the Brazilian Championship in the same year. The Brazilian title ended a 50-year drought, as the previous Serie A conquest was in 1971. It was also the club's second Copa do Brasil, after the one achieved in 2014. The squad had Hulk as the great star of the attack, Argentine Nacho Fernández in midfield creation, left-back Guilherme Arana on the left and Keno as a speed option. Almost all matches were played in front of fans at Mineirão, who supported the team throughout the campaign. The 2021 season is considered the most remarkable of the club's recent era and helped establish Atlético Mineiro among the greats of Brazilian football.
