Atlético Nacional

Atlético Nacional is Colombia's most successful club internationally and one of the largest in South America. Based in Medellín, the club is recognized for its strong identity, passionate fanbase, and for being the first Colombian club to win the Copa Libertadores.

History

Founded in 1947, Atlético Nacional wrote its most glorious chapter in 1989, becoming the first Colombian club to win the Copa Libertadores, defeating Olimpia of Paraguay. In 2016, the club won its second continental title in the same competition, establishing itself as Colombia's greatest champion in Copa Libertadores history. Over the years, the club dominated Colombian football with countless national titles and revealed talents such as René Higuita and Faustino Asprilla.
