Avaí/Kindermann Football Club
Partnership between Avaí Football Club and Kindermann School, based in Caçador (SC), was the greatest force in Brazilian women's football at the turn of the 2000s to the 2010s.
History
Avaí/Kindermann emerged from the union between the traditional Catarinense club Avaí, from Florianópolis, and Kindermann School, an institution in Caçador dedicated to sports training. The partnership created one of the most organized structures in Brazilian women's football during a period when few clubs invested professionally in the sport. In the decade following its formation, the club dominated the national scene, winning numerous titles in the Brazilian Women's Football Championship and continental trophies in the Women's Copa Libertadores of America, revealing and launching players who became references in the Brazilian National Team. With the increase of investments by major clubs such as Corinthians, Palmeiras and Flamengo in women's football from the mid-2010s onwards, Avaí/Kindermann lost some of its prominence, but remains a historical symbol of the early professionalization of women's football in Brazil, based in Caçador, in the interior of Santa Catarina.
