Azuriz Futebol Clube
A Paraná-based club headquartered in Pato Branco, known nationally for remarkable campaigns in the Brazilian Cup, eliminating traditional rivals from higher divisions.
History
Azuriz Futebol Clube was founded in Pato Branco, in the southwestern region of Paraná, in the early 2000s, with the objective of representing the region in professional football in the state. In a short time, the club established itself as a regular participant in the Paranaense Championship, competing against teams with greater tradition in the state scene. The main chapter of Azuriz's history occurred in its participations in the Brazilian Cup, a tournament in which the team surprised by eliminating clubs from higher divisions in knockout matches, gaining national notoriety as a club capable of pulling off upsets. These results put Pato Branco on the map of Brazilian football, despite being a medium-sized municipality. With a lean structure and strong support from the local community, Azuriz continues to compete in state and national access competitions, maintaining itself as one of the representatives of interior Paraná in professional football.
