History
Founded in 1925, Barcelona SC is the greatest champion of the Ecuadorian Championship and the club with the most supporters in the country. The club disputed the Copa Libertadores finals in 1990 and 1998, coming close to becoming the first Ecuadorian continental champion. With its solid structure and passionate fan base, Barcelona SC regularly represents Ecuadorian football in the Copa Libertadores, being the main rival of LDU Quito in Ecuador's most intense rivalry.
