Barra Football Club
A club from Santa Catarina founded in Balneário Camboriú, named after the Barra neighborhood. In just over a decade of existence, it had one of the fastest rises in Santa Catarina football, culminating in an unprecedented state title in 2026.
History
Barra Futebol Clube was founded on January 18, 2013, in the Barra neighborhood in Balneário Camboriú (SC). It made its debut in professional Santa Catarina football through the Series C (formerly Access Division) of the Santa Catarina Championship in that same year, finishing in ninth place among nine teams. In 2015, the club made a leap in quality and became the undefeated champion of the Santa Catarina Series C, accumulating 12 wins and 1 draw in 13 matches. The year 2021 marked another achievement: the title of Series B of the Santa Catarina Championship, also undefeated, with 13 wins and 7 draws in 18 games. The pinnacle of the trajectory came in 2026, when Barra FC won the Santa Catarina Championship for the first time, the elite of the state's football. In the final against Chapecoense, it won the first match 3-1 and secured the title even after losing the second match 1-0, played at Arena Condá. The club is known by the nickname 'Pescador' (Fisherman), in reference to the team's mascot and the fishing origins of the Barra neighborhood, represented on the shield by a hook.
