History

Barra Football Club was founded on January 18, 2013 in Balneário Camboriú. In the same year of its foundation, it debuted in professional football competing in Series C of the Catarinense Championship, finishing in ninth place among nine participants — a modest beginning for a club that would become, a few years later, one of the region's highlights. In 2015, Barra made an important leap by becoming the undefeated champion of Series C, with 12 victories and only 1 draw, securing promotion to the state's second division. Progress continued in 2021, the year the club ended Series B of the Catarinense undefeated, with 13 victories, 7 draws and no defeats in 18 games, scoring 31 goals and conceding only 9, guaranteeing for the first time promotion to the elite of Catarinense football. In 2022, Barra debuted in Series A of the Catarinense and remained in the first division. The club plays its home games at Arena Barra FC, in Itajaí, with capacity for just over five thousand fans, and inaugurated in 2025 a new stadium of its own next to its training center, with a debut match against Joinville.
