History

Founded in 1969, Barreiras Esporte Clube emerged as the main representative of football in western Bahia, a region historically distant from the major football centers of the state. The club competed in several editions of the Campeonato Baiano, mainly in its lower divisions, contributing to the strengthening of amateur and professional football in the western region of Bahia. Throughout its trajectory, the Verdão do Oeste maintained a relevant role in local sports training, serving as a reference for young athletes from the region.
