History

Founded in 1900, Bayern Munich emerged as a European powerhouse in the 1970s with the trio Beckenbauer, Müller and Maier, winning three consecutive European Cups. After years of domestic dominance, it returned to shine in Europe in 2001 and 2013, when it won the Champions League in its own stadium. Under Hansi Flick in 2020, it won the Champions League unbeaten in a bubble tournament in Lisbon, crowning a historic sextuple.
