Boca Júnior Football Club

Boca Júnior is a Brazilian football club from the municipality of Cristinápolis, in the state of Sergipe. Founded in tribute to the Argentine club Boca Juniors, it traditionally competes in the divisions of the Campeonato Sergipano.

History

Founded on October 25, 1993, Boca Júnior was born as a small association from the interior of Sergipe, adopting the name and colors in reference to the famous Argentine club Boca Juniors. Over the following decades, the club consolidated itself as one of the main forces in football in the interior of Sergipe, participating in the access divisions of the Campeonato Sergipano. The club won the Série A2 of the Campeonato Sergipano in 2004, defeating América in the final, repeating the feat in 2007 by overcoming São Domingos, with striker Rivanilton scoring six goals in the competition. A new Série A2 title came in 2014, reinforcing Boquinha's tradition in the state's access competitions. The club's women's department also built relevant history, winning the Campeonato Sergipano de Futebol Feminino in 2010, 2012 and 2016, becoming one of the most successful teams in this competition. Boca Júnior continues as a reference for football in Cristinápolis and in the interior of Sergipe.
