Botafogo 2010
The 2010 Botafogo squad, the Glorious team, won the Rio de Janeiro State Championship that year. The team played at Engenhão and restored the club to the list of state champions after the 2006 title.
History
Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, one of the great clubs of Rio de Janeiro, arrived at the 2010 season with the mission to fight for titles in the state championship. The campaign in the Rio de Janeiro State Championship was the most remarkable of the year and ended with the trophy in the hands of the black and white club. The 2010 title was the club's second in the state championship in the 21st century, after the 2006 one, and preceded the 2013 title. The achievement reinforced the tradition of a club that has always competed at the top of Rio football since the beginning of the 20th century. On the national scene, Botafogo competed in the 2010 Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil, closing a season in which the state championship was the great highlight. The team played its home matches at Estádio Olímpico João Havelange, the Engenhão, in the north zone of Rio. This page brings together the photograph of the 2010 squad within the long trajectory of the club, which also has other historical records published on Legado da Bola.
