Botafogo 2021

The 2021 Botafogo was the team that competed in Serie B of the Brazilian Championship after the 2020 relegation. The team finished the competition as champions and secured their return to Serie A.

History

Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas ended the 2020 Brazilian Championship among the relegated teams and started 2021 in Serie B. Goiás and Coritiba also fell that year, which made the 2021 Serie B one of the most disputed of the period. The campaign ended with the Serie B title and promotion to the elite. Botafogo, Goiás, Coritiba and Avaí were the four clubs promoted in that edition, so the three teams relegated in 2020 returned to Serie A the following year. The 2021 title was the club's second in Serie B, which they had previously won in 2015. In 2022, Botafogo began operating as a Football Publicly Traded Company (SAF), a management change that marked the next phase in the black-and-white team's history.
