History
Founded in 1912 in the city of Plovdiv, PFC Botev Plovdiv is one of Bulgaria's oldest and most traditional clubs, historically rivaling Lokomotiv Plovdiv in one of the country's biggest regional derbies. Throughout the 20th century, the club won multiple Bulgarian Championship and Bulgarian Cup titles, establishing itself as a powerhouse of Bulgarian football outside the capital Sofia. Botev also represented the country in UEFA European competitions on several occasions, maintaining a passionate fanbase throughout the region of Thrace.
