History

Founded on September 29, 1987 in the city of Brusque, in inland Santa Catarina, the club was born from a passion for football in a region strongly marked by German and Italian immigration. For decades, Brusque competed in regional and state competitions, building a solid fan base identified with the colors blue, white, black and yellow — the origin of the Quadricolor nickname. The turning point in the club's history came with consistent investments in infrastructure and professional football, which resulted in sustained growth in the national divisions. In 2020, Marreco achieved unprecedented access to the Série B of the Brazilian Championship, and in 2021 reached the pinnacle of its history by competing in Série A for the first time. Estádio Augusto Bauer, the stage of the club's achievements, became a symbol of the rise of Santa Catarina football on the national stage and one of the most feared stadiums by visitors in inland Brazil.
