History
Founded in 1882, Burnley is one of the oldest clubs in English football and was one of the twelve founding members of the Football League in 1888. It experienced its peak in the 1920s and 1960s, winning the national title in 1921 and 1960, as well as competing in the European Cup. In the 2010s and 2020s, it alternated between the Premier League and the Championship, maintaining Turf Moor as one of the most traditional arenas of English football.
