Cabofriense
Cabofriense is a football club from the city of Cabo Frio, in Rio de Janeiro, a traditional participant in the lower divisions of the Carioca Championship.
History
Founded in 1975, Cabofriense consolidated itself as one of the main forces of the interior of Rio de Janeiro state in Carioca football. Throughout its trajectory, the club alternated participations between the elite and the lower divisions of the Carioca Championship, being known for revealing players to larger clubs in the state. The team plays its home matches at Estádio Wanderley Alves de Almeida, popularly known as Recreio dos Atletas, and maintains strong identity with the local community, being one of the traditional representatives of the Lagos Region in the Fluminense football scenario.
