History
Esporte Clube Cachoeirense was founded on Saturday, June 7, 1958, in the city of Cachoeiras de Macacu, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro state, becoming one of the main sports associations in the municipality. Throughout its trajectory, the club competed in competitions organized by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation, including participations in the former Third Division (Terceirona), aimed at clubs of lesser expression within Fluminense football. Despite never achieving great state projection, Cachoeirense maintains historical and social importance to the local community, representing the tradition of amateur and semi-professional football in the interior of Fluminense.
