History
Campinense Clube was founded in 1915 in the city of Campina Grande, the second largest city in Paraíba, by enthusiasts who brought football to the interior of the Northeast. The club quickly became the main representative of Paraíba football, accumulating dozens of state titles throughout its hundred-year history. In the 1970s and 1980s, Campinense experienced its best moments in national football, competing in the first editions of the Brazilian Championship. Amigão Stadium, popularly known by that name for its warm reception to opponents, is one of the largest in the Brazilian Northeast with a capacity of over 60,000 fans. The rivalry with Treze FC, also from Campina Grande, is one of the most intense in Northeastern football and draws crowds in the interior of Paraíba.
