History
The club was born on October 26, 1912 with the name Campos Athletic Association, idealized by Wanderley Barreto, its first president. The first field was located in the Coroa neighborhood and was rented from the extinct Lacerda Sobrinho Futebol Clube, origin of the Leão da Coroa mascot. After passing through the Caju neighborhood, the club acquired the Parque Leopoldina area, where Estádio Ângelo de Carvalho was inaugurated on July 29, 1951. In the city's football, Roxinho won the Campista Championship in 1918, 1924, 1932, 1956 and 1976. In 1956 and 1976 it was also champion of the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro State Interior. In 2015, through a partnership with Associação Atlética Carapebus, it returned to professional football after 26 years and rose undefeated from the State Series C. In 2016, it was runner-up in Series B and won the Taça Corcovado. After ending the partnership, it affiliated independently with FERJ.
