Capital Football Club

Capital Football Club is an association from Brasília, currently headquartered in the administrative region of Paranoá. It competes in the Brasiliense Championship and national lower-division competitions, being one of the best-structured clubs in Federal District football today.

History

The club's origins date back to 1980, when it was founded by dissidents from other associations in the Federal District under the name Sociedade Esportiva Maringá. Over the following decades, the club underwent administrative restructurings and identity changes until establishing itself under the Capital brand, the name by which it is known today. In 2020, Capital relocated its headquarters from the Guará region to Paranoá, becoming a direct rival of Paranoá Esporte Clube in local competition. The move was part of a restructuring process that aimed to bring the club closer to a new fan base and expand its training facilities. In February 2024, Capital took an important step in its modernization by abandoning the traditional membership model and becoming the first Football Company (SAF) in the Federal District, a measure intended to attract private investment to the club. Currently, the team competes in the Brasiliense Championship and national-level competitions organized by the CBF in the lower divisions.
