History

Founded in 1930 in the town of Vila das Aves, Desportivo das Aves built throughout the 20th century a trajectory marked by ups and downs between the First and Second Portuguese League. The most remarkable moment in the club's history occurred in 2018, when it won the Portuguese Cup by defeating Sporting CP in the final, one of the greatest achievements for a small club in Portuguese football. After financial difficulties, the club faced restructuring processes in the following years, but remains a symbol of overcoming in Portuguese football.
