History
Founded in 1918 in the city of Santa Maria da Feira, Clube Desportivo Feirense built throughout the twentieth century a trajectory marked by ups and downs between the main and secondary divisions of Portuguese football. The club adopted the nickname 'Fogaceiros', in reference to a traditional sweet from the city, which strengthened its identity link with the local community. Feirense had spells in the First Division in different decades, reaching one of its most significant phases in the 2014-15 season, when it secured access to the elite of Portuguese football after competing in the Second Division. Playing its home matches at Estádio Marcolino de Castro, the club remained a reference in football of the Aveiro region, developing players and competing regularly in the secondary competitions of Portuguese football in the following years.
