History

Founded in 1923, RC Celta de Vigo built its history with ups and downs typical of a club that was never the richest, but always competitive. The club experienced its best European moment in the 2002-03 season, when it reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup by eliminating teams of European tradition. At that time, Celta had players such as Aleksandr Mostovoi, Valeri Karpin and young Iago Aspas in its early formation. In the 2010s and 2020s, the club remained in the first division with organized teams and local idol Iago Aspas as the maximum symbol of the club's identity.
