Celtic FC
Celtic is Scotland's biggest club in terms of titles and one of the most traditional in the British Isles. Founded in 1888 to raise funds for Glasgow's Catholic Irish community, the club became a symbol of a unique cultural identity. Celtic was the first British club to win the European Champions Cup.
History
In 1967, Celtic became the first British club to win the European championship by winning the European Cup, with a team formed entirely by players born within less than 50 km from Celtic Park — the famous 'Lisbon Lions'. The club dominated Scottish football for decades and won over 50 Scottish Premiership titles. Legends like Jimmy Johnstone, Kenny Dalglish and Henrik Larsson became eternal icons. The rivalry with Rangers, known as the 'Old Firm', is one of the most intense in the world.
