CFZ do Rio
The Zico Football Center Sports Society, CFZ do Rio, is a club from Rio de Janeiro founded in 1996 by former star Zico. It was the first club-company registered in Brazil.
History
CFZ do Rio was founded by Zico on July 12, 1996, six months after the first anniversary of the Zico Football Center, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in Rio de Janeiro. The objective was to continue the work of the center's training programs and allow young athletes to compete in official competitions. The club was born with the name Rio de Janeiro Football Club and later Rio de Janeiro Sports Society. This name was already used by another team and was eventually abandoned. On February 4, 1998, the CFZ designation officially became official, with the addition "do Rio". The project formed teams in five categories: grassroots, youth, juvenile, junior, and professional. It was the first club-company registered in the country, a model that years later would become more common in Brazilian football. On August 1, 1999, CFZ do Rio opened a branch in Brasília, CFZ de Brasília. The home matches of the Rio de Janeiro team take place at Estádio Antunes, with a capacity of about one thousand fans.
