History

Founded in 1905 in London, Chelsea went through decades as an inconsistent club until winning its first English title in 1955. The radical transformation came in 2003 with the acquisition by Roman Abramovich, who invested massively and brought José Mourinho. Under Mourinho, the club won two consecutive Premier League titles. In 2012, it won the Champions League for the first time in a dramatic fashion, defeating Bayern Munich on penalties in Munich. In 2021, it won the Champions League again under Thomas Tuchel.
